Many people dismiss chiropractic as being something only for back pain, but chiropractic treatment can be used to treat a wide variety of physical issues, such as migraines and headaches, chronic pain, carpal tunnel, pain due to injury or muscle strain, and much more.

What is chiropractic? How does chiropractic work? Who should see a chiropractor? These are all very common questions we hear on a regular basis here at Blossom Chiropractic. We thought we would share some general answers to these questions so that you can educate yourself, family and friends.

WHAT does chiropractic treat? People seek chiropractic care for a variety of reasons. The most common conditions we see in our office are low back pain, sciatica, headaches, neck pain: a whole variety of musculoskeletal conditions that affect muscles and joints. Pregnant women, babies with colic, children with ear aches and families also visit. We also see many patients that visit for general health and well being.

HOW does chiropractic work? Chiropractic does not treat conditions and disease directly, rather it looks to remove subluxations. Subluxations are areas of the spine that have lost their alignment, gotten stuck in the wrong position and have put pressure on the spinal nerves. Since your nervous systems control every single cell, muscle, tissue and organ in your body, this interference to the nervous system can disrupt the signals the brain is trying to send to your body to make it work. This can result in pain and dysfunction. By removing the interference (subluxation), your bodies is able to adapt, heal and regenerate at your highest level so you function and feel better.

WHO should see a chiropractor? The answer is anyone with a spine and nervous system. Chiropractic adjustments are safe for all ages from newborns to the elderly. Adjustments are specific and modified to fit the condition and age of the patient. If you have any further questions, don't hesitate our office and we will be happy to answer them.
